Introduction

Interior Design

Hi, Let me introduce myself….

Hi and Welcome!

I thought I would start my first post with an introduction about myself. My name is Elysse and I am a Southern California native (my parents moved from NY before I was born because according to my mom she hated being cold). I have lived all over the So Cal area, grew up in the IE, went to school in Fresno, came back down and lived in LA and OC. Now I’m back to where I started in the Inland Empire.

I have a young family that consists of a husband, dog and two young ones that keep me on my toes.

So the reason you’re here is because I am an interior designer, right?! So let me give you background on how I got to be one. I went to school at Fresno State and majored in Interior Design (BA of Arts in Interior Design). From school I went to work where I worked at architecture firms and worked in the healthcare interiors department working on hospitals and medical office buildings. I studied while working and got my NCIDQ Certificate and became a CA Certified Interior Designer. From there, I went on to then get to work on some other types of corporate sectors like higher education which then lead me to work for a commercial furniture company where I do space planning for offices and furniture layouts/drawings.

So what brought me here. Simple answer is I want to share my knowledge and help people achieve their goals in their homes. When you purchase your home everything might not be exactly what you like, but overtime it can be. Also I know sometimes my friends will tell me things like “I know what I like I just don’t know how to get there” and I am here to help! It sounds a little weird but the space planning part to me is like a puzzle that you are trying to make the most efficient for the way you live in your home. Then the colors and furniture selections just help complement the space, give it life and a peak into someone’s personality. Being a designer is just helping guide you if its all to overwhelming and you need some help to make your house your home.
